PRAYER OF SELF-OFFERING
Lord Jesus, I give you my hands to do your work.I give you my feet to go your way.I give you my eyes to see as you do.I give you my tongue to speak your words.I give you my mind that you may think in me.I give you my spirit that you may pray in me.Above all, I give you my heart that you may love in me your Father and all humanity.I give you my whole self that you may grow in me, so that it is you, Lord Jesus, who live and work and pray in me. Amen.

CHRISTMAS EPILOGUE (February 2nd)
The feast of the Presentation of the Lord comes as a sort of epilogue to Christmas. It’s no coincidence that it occurs exactly 40 days after the event since it is intended to set a seal on the Christmas season.
With the benefit of hindsight we see Jesus being presented in the temple and we recognise him as not simply the baby of Bethlehem but as the light for all nations. In celebrating today’s feast we light our candles so that we may be reminded of our baptismal commitment to spreading the light of Christ by the way that we live, and we rejoice that like Anna and Simeon we too have been privileged to see God’s salvation.
Today, your Son ,who shares your eternal splendour, was presented in the temple and revealed by the Spiritas the glory of Israel and the light of all peoples.
